Description
The appraisal of the estate of Daniel Parke Custis. The inventory appraises the Custis Estates in New Kent, King William, James CIty, York, Northampton, and Hanover counties. According to Fields, the only extant copy is in the account book of George Washington held at Washington & Lee University. Washington transcribed this copy from a complete inventory compiled by John Mercer (which was made up of separate county inventories, each performed by three appraisers).
